My background is in journalism. I have a Bachelor of Science degree in Journalism from Ohio University in Athens, Ohio and for the first six years of my career I was a journalist on Cape Cod. First, I covered small-town New England government such as the planning board, selectmen and town meeting. It was fascinating to watch the machinations of government work. At the same time I began writing features and investigative pieces while I also wrote a humor column for the Cape Cod Times for a half a decade. In the late 1980s, I began freelancing and I wrote stories for Boston Magazine, Boston Business Magazine, Teaching Tolerance and many others. In 1991, I collaborated on my first book, "The Adventure Of Leadership" by Hap Klopp, the founder of The North Face. That book has been re-published two times since then. I have since collaborated on many books, including books with professional athletes, business leaders and doctors. I have helped budding novelists turn a dream into a manuscript. I have even written two novels myself. One is narrated by a Cape Cod garbage man who wants to save his baseball field from being turned into a mall. The other is a political satire about the best little league baseball player in the world and his involvement in a presidential election. I also do volunteer work at a local middle school. For four years running, I have helped sixth graders write and produce scripts for 80-minute radio mystery plays that are performed and recorded with the funding of NPR. It's a lot of fun. Speaking of fun, I am the founder of WhatZGonnaHappen.com - a satiric website about politics, pop culture and the NFL. Go there and laugh. Finally, through Whatzgonnahappen.com, I have attracted some media attention as I am a regular guest on Jim Scott's show on Friday mornings on WLW700 (Home of the Reds) in Cincinnati, and I am also on with Tyler Tomlinson and Josh Houchins of 1440 WGEM in Quincy, IL. Through that website and my books, I have also appeared on radio in San Antonio, Great Falls, MN, and Boston - including WEEI, WWZN, and ESPN 890. I was born and raised near Cleveland, Ohio. I currently live in Falmouth, Massachusetts. I have the four best children in the world. |
